Honor the LORD with your wealth
Giving is an act of worship, trust, and obedience to God. The Bible teaches that when we honor the Lord with our tithes and offerings, He blesses us abundantly. As written in Malachi 3:8-10, God calls us to bring the whole tithe into His storehouse, promising that He will “throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”
When we give, we are not losing—we are sowing into God’s Kingdom. “Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously” (2 Corinthians 9:6). Our giving reflects our faith and trust in God’s provision.
The Lord promises that when we put Him first in our finances, He will take care of our needs:
“Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.” (Proverbs 3:9-10)
Jesus Himself taught the principle of giving, saying:
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Luke 6:38)
Giving is not just about finances—it is about a heart that trusts God. As Scripture reminds us, “for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7) Let us give with joy, knowing that God is faithful to His promises and that our giving has an eternal impact.
God wants you to give because He influences the world through His people. God gives to you so He can give through you. The Bible tells us that everything we have is a gift from God (1 Chronicles 29:14). As you give both faithfully, the world is changed for the Glory of God, the Gospel is preached, lives are touched, people are fed, bodies are healed, churches are built; and you, in turn, are blessed by God so that you can give again.
Our giving is to be voluntary, willing, and cheerful as an offering. As believers we are to be generous by sharing our material possessions with the needy and support Christian Ministries. The only requirement in the New Testament is to give cheerfully and willingly (Romans 12:6,8; 2 Corinthians 9:7). It’s time to give to those who really need the support for God’s work.
